For SaaS companies

The right price for your market, and the case to defend it.

Market Sonar measures your market: your competitors' plans, prices and features, read from their pricing pages. Each of your plans is placed within it; you know what you lack, and what a price change is worth before you make it.

Or see a worked case first.

14 days of Pro, briefing included, no credit card. After that, Free keeps your offers, website watching and a light briefing, for 3 competitors.

Without a survey of the market

Up to date?

The spreadsheet is a month old. Six competitors, three plans each, pricing pages that change without notice.

By feel

The price was set without a reference. Without your market's median, there is no telling whether a plan is expensive, or what customers pay more for elsewhere.

Too late

The change is seen when a prospect mentions it. The window to respond has already closed.

Their plans, surveyed

Give each competitor's website. Its pricing and features pages are found from the site, then read: plans, prices, included features.

Every reading can be checked and corrected. A plan with no public price is recorded as on quote, never counted as free.

Where each of your plans stands

Each plan is set against the median of rival plans in its lane: the gap as a percentage, the rivals closest in price, and how many features it gives per euro against them.

Then a lead: test a higher price, hold, or justify the gap.

The features that earn a premium

The features rival plans charge more for, dearest first: how many competitors offer each, the premium, and whether you do.

The ones you lack are the first to weigh, before you build them or decide to go without.

A price change, costed before it is made

Enter a new price and the number of customers on each plan: monthly revenue today and in the scenario, plan by plan.

No customer loss is assumed. The threshold is worked out instead: how many customers a raise can lose before it costs you. The decision stays yours.

You against one competitor

On each competitor's page: the price gap between your plans and theirs, the features you have that they lack, and the reverse. What a sales pitch or a comparison page needs.

Several plans can also be set side by side, feature by feature: rows where every plan answers the same fade out, and your differences remain.

Re-read every week

Each pricing page is re-read every week, or on the schedule you set for it, from hourly to monthly.

Every change dated

A price up or down, a plan added or removed, a feature gained or lost: every change is dated and kept.

In the morning, then on Monday

A price change reaches your morning briefing the same day. The Monday briefing places it under each competitor's row, and the full dossier keeps the detail.

Getting started

  1. At sign-up

    Name your competitors

Their name and website. Up to 5 on the Pro plan, 20 on Business.

  2. In the minutes after

    Their plans are surveyed

Pricing pages are found from each website and read; the first readings show up within minutes. Yours too, from your own website.

  3. Whenever you like

    Add your volumes

The number of customers on each plan, to cost a price change. Everything else reads without them.

Do you know how much you lose every month?

A price in the wrong place costs sales, every month. If Market Sonar helps you win or keep one or two, the plan has paid for itself.

Questions

What people ask before they start.

A question not listed here? Ask it

What if a competitor doesn't publish prices?

The plan is recorded as on quote. Its features count in comparisons; its price enters no median. If you know the price, from a quote or a customer, enter it yourself: it then counts like a price read from the page.

How many competitors can I follow?

3 on Free, 5 on Pro, 20 on Business, more on quote. On Free, plans are entered by hand: reading pricing pages automatically takes Pro or Business. See pricing

Who sees the sales volumes I enter?

The members of your team, and only them.

How often are pages re-read?

Every week unless you change it. You set each page on its own, from hourly to monthly.

Is there anything to install?

No. Everything is read from their public pages and in your browser: nothing to install, on your site or anywhere else.
