The unanswered questions

And them?

You follow your accounts and your reviews. Your competitors’ you see when you think of it, and rarely all of them.

Working better?

Is 200 interactions a post good? There is no telling without the figures of those after the same customers.

Their reviews?

Customers compare ratings before they come. What people praise elsewhere, and not at yours, is there in their reviews.

What your competitors do, and what people say about them

Their Instagram and LinkedIn posts, stories included, and their Google, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot reviews, collected every day. And the offers they push in Facebook and Instagram ads.

What moves shows up dated, in one line: an offer pushed in stories, a rating that slips, a posting rhythm that changes, a new business opening near you.

  • 24 SepStory

Competitor A Pushed a 15% offer in stories, three days running.

  • 22 SepReview

Competitor B Its Google rating slips from 4.6 to 4.4; “waiting time” keeps coming up in recent reviews.

  • 19 SepNew

A new business of the same kind opened 400 m from you.

  • 15 SepInstagram

Competitor C Now posts four times a week, against twice in August.

Example: made-up figures.

Is your marketing working better than theirs?

A standings table on each network: median engagement per post, rhythm, followers gained over the period. You see whether your posts do better than your competitors’, not just better than last month.

Each post is also measured against its own account’s usual post: the formats and topics that work in your market stand out.

Your reviews against theirs

Your rating, number of reviews and their pace, against your competitors’. What customers praise at theirs and never at yours, the complaints only you get, and how many reviews each one answers.

For an unanswered review, a reply is drafted for you, in the review’s language. You read it, copy it, and post it on Google.

Your Google listing is compared with theirs: hours, category, attributes, website, phone. You are told if someone edits it.

A rating is only compared with ratings on the same platform, and never ranked on fewer than five reviews.

  • RepliesYou answer 1 review in 3; competitor A answers 9 in 10, within two days.
  • Praised elsewhereThe welcome comes up in one review in four at competitor A; rarely at yours.
  • Google listingNo Sunday hours, when 3 of 4 competitors show them.

“Lovely welcome, but a 20-minute wait on a Saturday lunchtime.”

Suggested reply

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words about the welcome. Saturday lunchtime is our busiest slot: we are adding staff to it from this month. We hope to see you again soon.

More reviews, and better ones, with your review card

A business-card-sized card, with your logo and colours. Its QR code opens your business’s Google review form directly.

On the back, a line tells customers why five stars and not four: for Google, four stars already pull a rating down.

Download it as a PDF, one card or an A4 sheet of ten, and print it wherever you like, PrintOClock for example. Scans are counted every week.

Front

in five stars

Scan this code,
then “Write a review”.

Back

Why five, and not four?

Five stars lift our rating. Four pull it down: for Google, that is already a complaint.

Scans a week

19 scans, 6 new reviews

The card is generated in the app; the QR code here is drawn. Example: made-up figures.
